Marmaris Castle and old town
Marmaris Kalesi
Marmaris
A fortress rebuilt in 1522 by Suleiman the Magnificent ahead of his campaign against Rhodes, now home to an archaeological museum and a garden overlooking the harbour. Below the castle spreads the old town, with its narrow lanes and bazaar.
Tip: The courtyard overlooking the marina is the best spot for a photo of Marmaris, especially an hour before sunset.
